A baby shower is a wonderful event that can create lasting memories for all involved. However, planning one can prove to be a challenge, and hopefully these baby shower tips will help you! We wish to make it as easy as possible for you to plan everything for your baby shower. There are plenty of places that offer to sell you their baby shower tips, but why pay for it when there is so much free information to be found?
First of all, you don’t have to spend a fortune on catering for the baby shower. When you are making your plans, set the time to be in the early afternoon. This way, your guests have already eaten lunch, and you have several hours to play with before dinner time. You can simply serve up some homemade finger food, snacks, and drinks. A very simple thing that can cut costs, yet many baby shower tips you buy don’t even mention this!
Don’t wait until the last minute to hold the baby shower, but don’t do it in beginning stages of pregnancy. Who wants to spend the time and energy of finding proper storage space for so long? However, it can be an uphill battle to truly enjoy the shower the last few weeks, and Mom may be simply tired of being pregnant…something important to remember in your search for baby shower tips.
The last of our baby shower tips for you is to have some creative fun! If you’re trying to decide on party favors, consider crafting your own. There are tons of free craft ideas that can be found on the internet for creating thoughtful, original crafts to hand out. Bath salts are one of the easiest and cheapest crafts you can do. All you need is Epsom salt, scented oils, and something to put them in. You can buy little bags, or wrap some in colored saran wrap and tie with ribbon.

If you order a cake from a bakery, it’s really fun to have one that is decorated so that it looks like a baby tucked into it’s cradle. Most grocery store bakeries can do this type of cake (like Kroger or Walmart bakery).
Print the invitations yourself from your own computer.
Decorations: A few streamers and some balloons are a nice start. Next, take 3 packs of diapers and make them into a giant tiered diaper cake. Get packs of varying diaper sizes. Start by rolling a diaper, and then rolling more diapers around it until you have a big wheel. Tie it together with two or more strands of yarn. Make two wheels of varying sizes to stack them. Decorate it with rolled up baby socks made to look like roses tucked into the yarn. Use this as a center piece and then give it to the mom-to-be at the end of the party.
Next you need some baby shower games. I have posted many free ones at this website. Other sites will charge you to download what I have posted here free. See my article on free baby shower games for that.
It’s nice to pass the gifts around to all the party guests as the guest of honor is opening them, so that everyone can see the cute baby things. Help the mom-to-be by discretely making a list for her while she is opening her gifts. Write down what the gift is, and who brought it. This will help her when she writes thank-you notes later.
Have fun throwing your baby shower!
